This Jay Fathers ‘Stop the Bleed’ kit is part of the citizenAID Ready to Respond Milton Keynes scheme. This Paramedic led scheme that was initially established by Pink Punters for Pink Punters is now being rolled out across the city as an example of best practice in an attempt to help the wider communities and save life.
Says The citizenAID Ready to Respond Milton Keynes mission is, To empower Individuals, Families, Communities, Organisations and Businesses to help themselves and each other in the event of a serious risk from injury, terrorist attack or other major incident. The scheme has the support of Professor Sir Keith Porter and Major General Professor Tim Hodgetts two of the UKs leading trauma surgeons and clinical educators.
Jay Fathers was an 18 year old young man who was stabbed and killed at a house party in Milton Keynes in 2021. This kit serves to remind us all of the need to have access to simple training and equipment and to ensure that when it matters - we are Ready to Respond.
